The library of the Scuola magistrale, founded in 1873 at Pollegio, was later brought to the ancient monastery of San Francesco (Locarno). The actual library was created in 2002 from three different libraries (Scuola magistrale, Cantonal center for didactic means, Upper-secondary-school teacher training institute). Since 2009 it belongs to the Dipartimento formazione e apprendimento’s Documentation Center of the Scuola universitaria professionale della Svizzera italiana (SUPSI).
